About SHQFF Shorts
As an integral part of SHQFF, the Short Film Competition was created to showcase new and emerging filmmakers, especially those from Asia. Over the years we have received over 1000 works from over 60 countries and regions, and the finalists screened at the festival received positive audience responses.
In 2018, SHQFF’s Short Film Competition was renamed ‘SHQFF Shorts’. It includes two categories: Asian Short Film Competition, and World Short Film Screening. With the goal to fully represent Asian queer films while increasing the diversity of our programming, we create such parallel platforms to screen films from Asia and worldwide, and to bring more quality content to our local audience.
